Introduction to Night Navs: Information Evening

Night Navigation Trials are very much a corner stone of Cork Motor Club & we believe that these events are the foundation of a good Co-driver. Cork Motor Club has a long & proud history producing successful championship winning Co-drivers including the likes of: James O’Brien, Mark Murphy, Padraig Barry, Joe Shinnors, Jerry Hynes, Greg Shinnors, Liam Brennan, Ken Carmody, George Shinnors& Grace O’Brien who have all come from the “Night Nav” ranks. The club are concerned with the lack of newcomers to this element of motorsport & are making a concerted effort to attract newcomers/beginners to night nav’s.

A “Night Nav” podcast is due out before Xmas & will include interviews with a host of prominent competitors past & present.

Following the podcast the Club will host an “Introduction to Night Navs” evening at the Firgrove Hotel Mitchelstown,Co. Cork Friday December 30th at 19.00. This is aimed at newcomer competitors to night navigation trials to give people a basic idea of how to embark on their first event.

Following on from the evening in Mitchelstown a variety of Club members will offer individual “one to one tuition”to give new co-drivers/ crews more in depth tuition before their first event (which we hope will be our annual 1000 Shakes Navigation Trial Saturday 21stJanuary 2023).

All are welcome (Note; you can get a navigator licence from age 16) to the Firgrove Hotel-you don’t need to bring anything -the Club will provide handouts/ stationary/ everything required on the night.Teas/ Coffees will be served from 19.00, with the presentation commencing @ 19.30.

Please complete the registration form below & return by email to Greg Shinnors no later than 21.00 Friday 23/12/22 so the Club can finalise numbers with the Hotel.

ABOUT US

Cork Motor Club came into existence in 1976. That was the year a group of enthusiasts got together in Blarney, Co Cork to give birth to what was then, Irelands newest motor club. Today, Cork Motor Club is one of Ireland's premier Motor Clubs.
