West Cork 2020 – Press Release 1

The Clonakilty Park Hotel (formerly the Quality Hotel) is once again the Rally Headquarters for the weekend. In keeping with recent years, service will be in a centralised location over the two days. There will be a historic and junior section, with the historic rally beginning on stage 5, and the junior rally taking in all of Sundays stages.

Clonakilty will reverberate with the sound of rally cars. The 42nd Clonakilty Park West Cork Rally which takes place on the 14th & 15th March 2020 will see the top talent in both Ireland and Britain come head to head.

The event will be the second round of both the Irish Tarmac Rally Championship and the British Rally Championship as well as the opening round of the Southern 4 Rally Championship so a great battle is in store.

For 2020, Greg McCarthy has stepped aside as Clerk of the Course after five successful years and Steve Davis has taken over the reigns as Clerk. Steve has a huge amount of experience having been deputy to Greg for a number of years and has laid on a classic route totaling almost 240km over two days. There will be eight stages on the opening day with six on the second day, all to be held in daylight.
